Windscreen

Most of us agree, and complain that the windscreen on the GT, wether high or low model, gives a lot of turbulence and noise. My experience was very strange. I wear glasses under my helmet. When it rains, the Pinlock visor on my Shoei XR 1000 remains clear, but my spectacles fog up badly. I found that out on my Croatia trip, while riding with my high shield in the uppermost position under incredible rains.

However, when I put the shield in the lowest position, I had air around my helmet and my glasses were clearing up. So, the high shield DOES function aerodynamically, but it still gives turbulence and noise. Can any of you confirm my experience ? Can someone give an explanation ?

Shield in the lowest position gets you wind on the helmet. This will result in some draft inside the helmet that prevents your glasses from fogging.

Hi Caratz,

in my opinion the problem comes from the lower edges at the screen right and left which give way to the wind in the upper positions.

Take your hand and close the hole right or left between screen and fairing. You will see (hear) the differenz.

The screen ist aktually high enough for every tails.

Did you see the many flys at the rear side of the screen?
This is not a result of the hard stopps

There ist a lot of wind behind the screen coming from the holes at the edges.

Higher Speed, lower Screen.
Lower Speed, higher Screen.

Check it.

regards

This is extremely interesting. I'm going to try to stick some cardboard on the edges and experiment with what you say. Meanwhile, I have sent an enquiry to MRA to see wether one of their Vario models fits the screen of the GT.
