First service.

This morning I brought my bike for its first service. Didn't feel comfortable at all during the ride to the dealers. Something was bothering me. It turns out I have an eye infection. I didn't pick it up this afternoon, as scheduled. I was wearing sunglasses all day long, and it's grey outside.

Yet I went to the Freundliche, because my Friend/Partner in business/Kid brother has decided after riding my RS all weekend that he is going to sell his Harley and get a second hand R 1200 ST.

I have had a long talk about the horn problem -I posted on the Zubehör- with the head mechanic. That was after a conversation with the chief motorcycle mechanic for Belgium. It seems a LOT of people complain about it.

The service went perfectly well. It seems I got a software upgrade for the engine as well. I wonder what it'll do. Must be the famous miracle I heard about. We'll see when I pick it up tomorrow. My friend Mo has a test ride at 16.00 and my other riding partner on the RT must pick up his bike too at the same time.

I am treating my eyes with an antibiotic salve and hope that as usual, tomorrow it'll be healed. Not happy right now.

Got the bike back at 1600. I was shell shocked at the size of the bill. They told me they spent a lot of time upgrading the software, and that I should expect a definite change.

Truth is, it does feel a lot fleeter. The throttle feels a lot more responsive. I took it up to 7000 RPM for the first time in 4th. Definitely not a good idea on a 90 KPH road. You get my drift.

I'd made an appointment with a friend of mine at the Freundliche. He walked out of there with a contract for the purchase of a second hand R 1200 ST. That, after only riding Hardly's for 14 years. It's bike 17 that my dealer has sold thanks to me. Said friend is riding with us to Gerardmer next week. Three BMW's, all three grey, all three different types. Is anyone in the neighborhood on the long weekend ? If so, send me a PM and lets try to meet. You'll see a GT, an RT and an ST with Belgian plates, that's us.

Do you have a 152 PS Bike. My one is from March 2006. Maybe I can get the later/upgraded version as well.
