This morning I was at my Freundliche to check something out. I heard the owner talk to a customer regarding the purchase of a new comm system. En passant, he mentionned that BMW is not manufacturing their Bluetooth at the moment ? It seems they have had enormous problems with them, which was confirmed by numerous posts here as well.

Any truth to it ?

By the way, did any of you try out Baehr's Bluephone ? Just asking that out of curiosity.

Caratz, seems to be the truth.

I've heard that Schuberth manufactured the BMW-System (as well as their own BlueSonic-thing).
It's said that none of the systems were worth the money and that technical issues were frequent.
This might have influenced the decission of (temporary ?) taking it out of the market, tough I've not yet seen any official statement on this.

IMHO none of the available aftermarket-systems is a real option at the moment. Hope there will be a good solution in the future... :?

Yep, methinks I'll stick to my good old cable for the time being...
I have the following setup :
Baehr Ultima XL.

1- bike to bike comm
2- phone, connected by BT to 2820. Need to be available for work 24/7.
3- 2820 connected to Baehr. Allows usage of the phone with the GPS screen thanks to the AKU cable of Baehr, and gives the GPS info with the regular Garmin cables.
4- Creative Zen V + MP3 with radio

This setup just works with the good old spiral cable connected to the helmet.

My dealer told me that one single customer of his got FIVE new BT helmets. I can see why BMW would rethink their strategy.

Hello,
the Duke gave you the right Answer.

The Best you can get at the Moment is the Baehr System with the "Old-Style-Wire-Transmission".
Bluetooth-Transmission is not really functionable and the Transmission failed at higher Speed...
So the Production by BMW / Schuberth stopped. Other Distributors got the same Problem....

Best Regards
Josef
