I don't know how you feel about this. When I checked out the new klamotten from BMW at my dealer's today, I found out they were made in Hungary, China and Romania.

Now, we know what success BMW has had with the bearings they got from Poland on the GS's, and god knows what other components they use that come from cheap labor countries.

I personally feel like I'm being taken for an idiot sometimes. I would have to pay 500 € plus for a Light and Easy jacket that was made in Hungary ? For what, because it has the name BMW ?

End of rant.

Hi,

ja ja so sind die, in den ärmsten Ländern produzieren lassen und höchste
Preise verlangen.

In other words, the art of marketing consist in selling at a very high price, a pretty good article that is worth about 50 % of the sales prices, including a very hefty profit for the company.

Guys, isn't it time that we try and do something about being taken for suckers ? Or are we real suckers ?

That´s not BMW typical only.... A Harley leather jacket (Made in China) costs about 400 USD in the states - in Europe 810 EUR only :? . The epitome of chutzpah is that the custom confiscate all articles sent from US to Germany and in succession the patent attorney of HD Germany need´s about 8 weeks to proove that´s not a copy....
Gruss

A cynic would say they deserve it.. :D

It's not because HD has chutzpah, that a serious firm like BMW has to emulate them. At least in their bikes, they deliver a difference, but in their gear ? Helmets made by Schubert, clothing made in China, Romania and other low cost countries. Materials, I wonder who does the quality control.

When is BMW going to come out with a cosmetic line ?
