Hier ein nachricht wie mein k1200r gestorben ist, in English weil in Deutsch meine grammatik fehlt.
I am writing this since maybe it will help you in the case you are also driving with a bad starting hot engine for a while without his / her BMW dealer investigating the cause and taking proper measures.
After a club tour last sunday I drove home and was riding about 120 / 130 kmpu on the highway (engine was running superb) when I noticed the back of my motorcylcle wiggeling.
After a while it became worse and I had to get off the high way but was afraid to corner since it wiggled heavily.
So I stopped the motorcylcle on the emergency lane, stalled the engine and looked at the rear tire wich was flat.

I tried to start the engine, to walk with the motorcycle in first gear to a parking space off the highway but it wouldn't start (this is common since it wouldn't start with a hot engine for almost 2 years). So after a while I made it to a parking space and called for help.
About 15 minutes later Itried to start again, since after cooling down the engine always start, and yes it did, but o my god

The motorcycle was picked up and delivered at my BMW dealer. They inspected the engine and came to the conclusion;
- drivetrain chain guiding strip broken.
- drivetrain chain had jumped to another teeth on both camshaft sprockets (off timing) with probably deformed valves (this has still to be investigated).
- Dealer proposed to startup a coulance procedure (koulanz prozedure) before continuing since they had never had this kind of defect before.
I am curious what will be the outcome.
