V9 problems.

I have had V9 installed on my GT. The result was very very bad. The bike is un rideable. The neutral RPM gets blocked at 2200-2500 RPM when the engine is warm. You have no engine brake which is bad when you count on it.

In slow riding, the RPM gets stuck, then you pull in the clutch, it goes to 3000 RPM, goes down to 1500 after a second, release the clutch and it goes back to 2500 with the gear in.

I have just spoken to BMW Belgium about it. Bikes that have been built before December 2006 should have their airbox and air filters replaced to avoid these problems.

It is also a problem that the computer at your freundliche will not diagnose any fault, because the problem is not electronics, but mechanical, and will only occur when the engine has been running for a few hours.

My freundliche is closed today but I am sending him a mail to get in touch with BMW Belgium tomorrow first thing.

I wonder ´bout the Air-Filters? Thougt, they are changed all in the Past?
But could there happen such Differences by the Filters?

What happens then, after a few Hours of Riding?

Yes, there IS a V9 software update. I think some other people here have had similar problems, that is why I posted. I have had the same problem with an earlier version of the sofware, but with V7 it disappeared.

It's not only the filter that needs changing, it's the airBOX as well, and then a new probably larger filter is fitted, to give better cooling on the stelmotors.

I will inform you when I will have ridden the bike after the retrofit. Riding yesterday on a road that I could do almost blindly, and having this problem was very frightening.

I just have had a call from my dealer. They have THREE GT's with the same problems since V9. Nobody at BMW Belgium told them that the airbox might have to be changed.

They are having a call to BMW's technical boss, and are ordering whatever needs to be replaced. I hope that they will have EVERYTHING in one shot :

New seat
New clutch pushrod
New airbox, filter and idle control device

Are you too starting to get the feeling that we are the testers for BMW ?

Erzatzteile sind bei dem freundliche eingetroffen. Morgen früh verabredung. Hoffentlich ist am abend alles drin.

zu dem thema airbox bräuchte ich mehr informationen, davon hat mir mein freundlicher nichts gesagt.

Die airbox von alle pre december '06 GT's sollte umgetauscht werden für dem neuen model. Die ETK nummer have ich hier irgendwo postiert.

Meine GT ist beim händler, unter regenkübeln gefahren, combi ist nich mehr wasserdicht.

Airbox, stelmotoren, ersetzt. Neues dings an die kupplung.

Hat alles NICHTS genützt. Es schüttelt noch erger als früher. RPM in N ist von 1100 bis 3000. Ich kann die maschine nicht rollen lassen, die weigert unter 1800 RPM zu gehen in gänge 2-4.

Habe vorschlag gemacht V 9.1 am freitag drauf zu legen und aus zu probieren. Wenn's keine besserung gibt, bleibt das moped beim freundliche bis die sache klar kommt. Aber ich wil dan einen ersatz GT von BMW BeLux haben für diese zeit.

Meine GT ist beim freundliche geblieben. Ein mechaniker ist auf probefahrt gegangen, hat genau gemacht was ich ihm gesagt habe, und hat das problem dupliziert.

Die maschine würde auf dem computer getestet. Schliesszeiten für die "valves" (ventile ?) sind viel zu lang. Weit über das maximum von 0.5 sec. Von 2000 RPM nach 1000 RPM dauert 9-12 seconds.

Gas bleibt in N immer zwischen 1500 und 2500 RPM hangen. Der mechaniker war ein wenig blass wenn er zurück gekommen ist.

Habe dem freundliche schon gewarnt das es so nicht weiter geht. Dienstag werden die sich in verbindung stellen mit BMW BeLux. Beim freundliche finden die keine lösung.

bei uns must du dem händler 3 x die chance geben den mangel zu beseitigen, wenn er es dann immer noch nicht erledigt hat kann man vom vertrag zurücktreten

Ahah. Der handler reisst sich die haare aus dem koppf. Ich bin dort kunde seit 14 jahr, und ziemlich eng mit ihm befreundet. Er hat durch mich 15 BMW's verkauft. Es macht für mich wenig sinn mit mit ihm zu streiten. Er wird die sache beheben, die frage ist wann. Mittlerweile, am wenigstens bis Dienstag, wird nichts geschehen. Die haben Monntag zu, aber ich muss jetzt doch dort hingehen, wegen einen kleines ölleck an die RS. Hoffentlich nur einen dichtungsring.
